Hunter is 8!

How do I have an 8 year old? When did this happen? It seems like yesterday that KC and I were bringing Hunter home from the hospital. I remember looking at him like he was the most amazing thing in the world and why on earth would the Lord entrust me with this perfect little being? Now he's eight and ready to make his own decisions...
Hunter's birthday was on a Sunday, so he was a little worried when the first gifts he received was a suit, books on baptism and a CTR ring!
Later that night we did his favorite dinner, cupcakes and his fun presents.
This weekend we went to the temple and had baptism pictures taken by his Aunt Sydney. Hunter and his cousin Calder are being baptized on the same day, so it will be really special!
Here is my little guy, all grown up... sort of!
Hunter is now a cub scout (or as Tate calls it, a Scub Scout) and this was his first Pack Meeting. They worked on their Swimming belt loop and Hunter has already earned his Bobcat! We are so proud of you, Hunter!

Sawyer's Firsts

Sawyer is growing up too fast for me. He started crawling at 6 months and started standing and walking along furniture at 7 months. Thankfully, he doesn't want to try walking on his own yet. At least I don't have a toddler yet. I'm just trying to enjoy him being a baby because more than likely, he is probably our last.
Here is Sawyer with his mop. I wanted to wait until he was one to cut his hair, but old people were starting to confuse him for a girl, so I figured it was time...

This is all of Sawyer's hair, there was a ton of it!

My first haircut was successful and Sawyer looks like a little handsome boy again!

Meet the Teacher and First Day of School 2011

"Meet the Teacher" 2011 was a fabulous day filled with wonder and excitement... mostly on my part! What would a day be like with just the two little boys at home? What will it be like to not have to pick up a Kindergartner right in the middle of the day? Those were the thoughts going through my brain. Meanwhile...Hunter is helping Summer pick out her desk. Hunter had the same classroom last year, just a different teacher.
This is Summer's First Grade teacher, Ms. Zaviska.
This is Hunter's Second Grade teacher, Mrs. Abney. As it turns out, her sister-in-law is a good friend in our ward! Small world!
These are my two cuties on their first day of school. They are getting so big. When did this happen?!
Summer cracks me up. I swear she's already a teenager, she's just trapped in a smaller body. She was very involved in her first day of school outfit... She wanted navy blue Toms and that navy blue shirt from Justice, which she paired with the grey tank. The jeans needed to be really dark. She then proceeded to tell me that she wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up. I hope she does it!
Here is Hunter, who I had to beg to wear a new pair of jeans on the first day of school. H- "Does it really matter? I don't care what other people think, it's only clothes." I love that kid, and in theory he is right, but unfortunately the jeans he tried to wear were too small and he had high waters. He is his father's child, he rejects the unfamiliar and sticks to what he knows.

The first day went really well, no major hiccups and everyone made it home from the bus in one piece.

Summer is 6!

Summer had a wonderful 6th Birthday. We celebrated her birthday a little early and celebrated it at Disneyland. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of that, due to the tragic loss of my dear camera. On her actual birthday, we celebrated with some cupcakes and a few gifts that we didn't haul to California. Hunter got her a Lalaloopsy doll, Tate got her some Squinkies and KC and I got her some new sheets for her bed, since the others didn't really go with her new theme.

This is how we found her that night... a true diva, but I love it!
That is her new friend, Disney the Bear that she made at BBW in Downtown Disney.

Too Depressed to Blog :(

As many of you know, I like to blog at least once a month to journal the happenings of my little family. Lately, however, I've been too depressed to blog due to the loss of my dear friend. No, the friend I lost was not a person, but my awesome camera. I know it sounds stupid to be that attached to an object, but I was/ maybe still am. I LOVED my camera. It was a pretty nice camera. It was stolen at Disneyland of all places. I honestly feel like I lost a family friend. I know... I'm a weirdo. Maybe it was the way it was lost and the memories that were lost with it that made it so horrible... or all of the above!

Anyways, since I don't have any pictures of my summer vacation to Disneyland, I am going to journal my favorite memories...

#1- Summer had her dance Nationals there (that was our main reason in going). She performed "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and her team won 8th in the Nation overall. She did an awesome job! Later that evening when we were in Fantasyland, I had her sit on the same railing that I sat on, and had a picture taken of me, for my first trip to nationals.
#2- Hunter was my dare devil and rode all the big rides with me. He got picked (again) to do the Jedi training and fought Darth Vader. Hunter's souveneirs were stolen along with the stoller and other things, and he was so sweet about it. He offered to not make me re-buy his stuff because everything had been taken and we were having to spend a lot more money than we anticipated just to replace things. Of course, I re-bought what was taken from him, but he is the child that is always thinking of others. I love that about him.
#3- Taters. What can I say? Just the wonder and excitement in his eyes. I took the cutest picture of him with Mickey Mouse. He was just looking up to him and staring at him like he was getting the autograph of a celebrity. He also LOVED pirates of the Carribbean. I think we rode it 5 times. He would keep his arms up the whole time waiting for the little dips that the boat would make. He also decided to start going poop on the potty on that trip...too much info, I know!
#4- Sawyer. Sawyer took the brunt of the loss on this trip. Whoever stole our stuff, stole his Mickey Mouse baby blanket, his diaper bag, his stroller, food, diapers and formula. KC had to run and find a Walmart at midnight to replace everything. Sawyer was my little buddy and rode all of the rides with me. I think he really liked the Little Mermaid ride and Finding Nemo the best. He didn't care too much for Pirates!
#5- KC. After realizing our stuff was gone, KC started to panic because he thought that the keys to the Tahoe were in the diaper bag. The Lord was watching over us, because I found the keys in the diaper bag earlier that morning and just had a feeling that I should take them out, so I did. We could have been stuck there for who knows how long. A bad trip could have been much worse!
#6- My favorite memory of the kids in general, was actually hanging out at the Disneyland Hotel pool. Every afternoon, because it was so hot, we went and hung out at the pool to get out of the heat. The pool is fantastic with tons of water slides, it was just a blast! They had so much fun, you could just see it in their little faces!
Honestly, it really was a great trip, it just ended on such a sour note. I did realize that things are only things, I had my family and that is the most important thing.

Our Crazy May

So to start the month off, Summer had her first dance competition! She competed in two dances in the 'Hall of Fame' competition. This was her Team dance to Cotton Eyed Joe. She did an amazing job and totally nailed it! I was so proud!

This was her second dance for her Allstar team to a really upbeat version of the Itsy Bitsy Spider. They ended up getting 3rd place for ItsyBitsy Spider and 4th place for Cotton Eyed Joe. Awesome job, girls!

This is the "Tiny" team at their awards ceremony. It's hard to believe that the dance season is almost over!

Here is Hunter at the morning assembly for May! He was student of the month and the virtue for that month was wisdom. Hunter seriously is pretty wise beyond his seven years. He is such an easy child to parent and so obedient. I love this little guy, but sadly, he's not so little anymore!

We are so proud of you, Hunter!

Here's Summer all ready for her dance recital. She was in three dances, this was for ballet and then she did the other two dances that they competed at Hall of Fame.

This was backstage at the recital with her friends.

Here's my little guy Sawyer, that is growing way too fast! He pushes himself up onto all fours and is trying to figure out how to crawl. Since he's most likely my last, I want to enjoy every little second and milestone.

Summer also graduated from Kindergarten. This is Summer with her teacher, Mrs. Cammack.

Posing with Daddy and Tate.

Congratulations, Summer! We are so proud of you!

And after a VERY busy May, we were exhausted and looking forward to relaxing this summer!

Easter 2011

Easter this year was so much fun! We invited all of the cousins over for an Easter egg hunt and an Egg Spinning contest, which was a BLAST by the way! The O'Havers are SO competitive I knew it would be hilarious to watch!
My older three kids decorated their own hard boiled eggs to prepare for the event...

Tate probably had the more fun dying the egg than anything else!

Summer hamming it up for the camera... she ended up winning the whole thing with her Uncle Jacob's help.

Hunter was very meticulous with his dying and his turned out to be pretty cool!

The O'Haver Family Spinning Eggs

Sawyer is four months and loving his first Easter with Mom.

Look at how intense some of these people are! Egg Spinning was too fun!
